Te Pahu Preschool is a not-for-profit community-driven early childhood education provider.
Te Pahu Preschool is run by our amazing team of teachers who are responsible for the day to day running of the Preschool. Our teachers are supported by our Centre Manager and our Executive Committee of enthusiastic parents and community members.
Te Pahu Preschool’s philosophy acknowledges parents as first teachers to their children and our teachers respect the knowledge and interests that children have acquired through their families and early life experiences.
Our aim is to:
- Give children access to a variety of stimulating experiences.
- Give children the opportunity to become confident in themselves as individuals.
- Give children an awareness of their environment and their multi-cultural heritage with positive links to the community.
- Extend our children’s social skills, allowing them to grow and develop individually with the process of learning being paramount.
Our goals are to:
- Provide learning experiences that are stimulating, challenging and nurturing.
- Encourage children to use their minds and bodies creatively and expressively.
- Support them to extend their ideas, explore, question, problem solve, practice existing skills and learn new ones.
- Help them develop the skills to set their own goals and become independent learners
